The Rip formed in 2004 by combining various members of defunct Adelaide punk bands 99 Reasons Why, The Beer Goggles, Hard Done By, and Nevertheless. Amongst their ranks they share a passion for energetic, punchy, melodic hardcore punk drawing influences from Mid Youth Crisis/One Inch Punch, Rise Against, Strike Anywhere, NOFX, and Ignite. In August 2006 The Rip released a 5 track self titled EP on Two Bucks Records, and future plans include interstate touring as well as recording their second EP later in 2006. The return of their original guitarist earlier in the year and the recent release of their debut EP has given the band a renewed energy and passion to play exciting music that doesn't bend to fashion or trends.
